Modern Illness

Yes, indeed, it sounds like a fine solution and it is, in fact, a widely administered therapy. But it certainly isn’t the therapy for me. Like thousands of other patients, I really can’t stand needles. I can’t say why that is, and I haven’t read a theory that attempts to satisfactorily explain why needles affect me like they do.
Like I said, I’m always searching for alternatives to needles. I’ve been pleased to discover that there have been encouraging advances in the field of treatment of varicose veins that have done away with the reliance on chemical injections. The astonishing applications in the field of high-intensity laser beams have opened up plenty of new options in varicose vein treatment. Let me explain: today’s lasers penetrate deeper than the older models.
Consequently, my doctor can zap my varicose veins with heat from high-intensity laser beams. For me, this is the perfect solution, but, as I confessed to my doctor, I felt a bit silly that someone had to invent a non-needle therapy just because guys like me hated needles so much. He explained that the therapy was also important for treating veins that are too small for an injection needle (the sclerotherapy method), consequently the treatment is of benefit to some patients who have no intense dislike of needles.
If you’re like me, then sometimes you look for rational-sounding excuses to avoid having to undergo unpleasant therapies. I think that to a certain degree many of us do this, secretly hoping that we’ll find out that we’re allergic to some component of a therapy so then we can avoid it altogether. Well, fellas, we don’t get a free pass on this one because our dislike (okay, maybe even fear) of needles no longer means that we can’t get proper treatment for our varicose veins.
No, with the encouraging advances that have developed in the field of treatment of varicose veins, high-intensity lasers allow us to go after the affected tissue without having to resort to the dreaded needle. Like I mentioned before, I’m always searching for alternative therapies that don’t require needles and I really feel that this type of varicose vein therapy is absolutely perfect for guys like me. I hope this is good news for you, too!
