Many people feel that anti-oxidants such as those found in vegetables and fruits can be very helpful in combating the flu, and taking supplements of Vitamin C and Vitamin E can prove to be helpful. Herbal supplements have shown to be of merit as well, and Echinacea and garlic may be helpful in conquering your problem with influenza. Fruit juices such as grape juice can also be very helpful, as they contain compounds known as 'tannins' which are revered for their virus-fighting capabilities. If you feel like you've got a headache or a fever that simply is too tough to stand, you may want to take an analgesic such as Tylenol in order to remedy the pain.

Another thing to consider when getting over the flu is the likelihood that you will be spreading the sickness to others. It can be a very easy virus to spread, and for that reason, it is of the utmost importance that you wash your hands often.
